‎The Nigeria Maritime University Library commenced its Institutional Repository training programme on Thursday, 22nd January 2026 with an online webinar titled “Using the NMU Institutional Repository: Step-by-Step Guide.” The virtual session introduced staff, lecturers, cadets, and members of the NMU community to the purpose, benefits, and effective use of the University’s Institutional Repository, with emphasis on research visibility, preservation, and access.‎‎

Following the successful online session, the Library proceeded with physical, hands-on training sessions to provide participants with practical experience. The first physical training was held yesterday at the Kurutie Campus, where participants were guided through live demonstrations on accessing, uploading, and managing scholarly works on the NMU Institutional Repository.

‎‎The training programme will be rounded up tomorrow at the Okerenkoko Campus, as the Library continues its commitment to building research capacity and promoting open access to scholarly outputs across both campuses of the University.‎‎The NMU Library remains dedicated to supporting teaching, learning, and research through continuous user education and innovative library services.
